HackSat One

HackSat One is a tiny satellite sprite, launching as part of the KickSat swarm. The sprite is powered by its own solar panel and is capable of broadcasting signals back to Earth. The launch is due winter 2013-14 as part of a NASA mission to resupply the International Space Station.

I am working on the project with other members of London Hackspace. The main goal of the project is to receive signals from HackSat One using our own ground station in London. As of summer 2013, development is in full swing. You might also like to check out the London Hackspace project page.

Uploaded some demo sprite payload software to GitHub. The KickSat project recently received the final flight sprites: they have solar panels on both sides! Serious planning has started for Hackney Space Centre. Sprite software development needs to be completed by end of August, so that's the current priority.
